Why Sponsor Derby Day?

Your support is greatly needed.

Being involved in meaningful leisure activities is one of the best ways to adjust to lifestyle changes caused by a disability. Therapeutic recreation programs have a profound and lasting effect on the quality of life of people with disabilities, yet they are not covered under individual insurance policies, and are often not available through other sources, like community recreation programs. By sponsoring Derby Day, you and your company are helping people with catastrophic injuries or diseases lead active, healthy lives. Your support funds Shepherd's Therapeutic Recreation activities like the Wheelchair Division of the Peachtree Road Race and the Adventure Skills Workshop.

It's a great way to get your company involved in the Atlanta community.

More than 1,000 of Atlanta's current and future leaders attend Derby Day. In the past 27 years, the Junior Committee has raised more than $3.5 million for the patients of Shepherd Center. All corporate sponsors receive special recognition on Derby Day and are acknowledged in Spinal Column, Shepherd Center's periodic magazine with a circulation of 27,000.

It's a great way for employees and company guests to have fun, meet other Atlantans, and learn about Shepherd Center and its therapeutic recreation programs.

Derby Day offers a fun day in the sun where you, your company's guests and employees can socialize with other active community members. There are also many opportunities to meet members of the Shepherd Center staff, and learn more about the hospital's Therapeutic Recreation programs.

How To Become A Derby Day Sponsor/Patron

New this year, we are introducing two new “Patron” levels. At the Junior Patron level of $150, you will receive two General Admission tickets, and recognition in Spinal Column magazine and on the Derby Day Web site. At the Patron level of $250, you will receive two General Admission tickets, two event t-shirts, six drawing tickets, and recognition in Spinal Column magazine and on the Derby Day Web site.

If you are interested in sponsoring Derby Day at the Silver Cup ($500), Gold Cup ($1,000), Blue Ribbon ($2,500), Platinum ($5,000), Triple Crown ($10,000), Winner’s Circle ($15,000) or Presenting ($20,000) Sponsor levels, click here to make your donation by credit card.

If you are interested in sponsoring at a higher level, you may print and fill out a Sponsorship Commitment Form and send it in with your pledge amount or payment.
